iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C Release

It reminds me of that movie saying, "If you build it, they will come." It didn't take much to nudge me out into the day to take a drive out and check out the scene at the Apple Store.

Well, I've seen it, I've touched it and I want it. Maybe it's because of the Apple cult allure or the polished device itself. Whatever the reason is, Apple is obviously doing something right. And you would think with so many phones in the market Apple has seemed to put together an iPhone that just feels perfect in the hand of most consumers. Sales will eventually be the verdict of that in the days ahead as well as the Apple (APPL) Stock hitting the low $466 a share as of today. But lets face it, Apple isn't going anywhere.

The lines were extended from the Apple entrance all the way around the local Starbucks that was offering coffee to people in the line. And to make things even more convenient, umbrellas were offered in the rainy weather to those still outside waiting to enter the glass doors and get past the redecorated window display of colorful art.

The question we all need to ask is who is this new iPhone 5C or 5S for? The technology is hands down ahead of it's class. The new iPhone 5S built with the new A7 Chip and 64-bit Architecture built specifically around the iOS 7 is super fast. 2x faster than the A6 Chip previously released. and the biggest and more recognizable difference is the Touch ID - Finger Recognition placed right on the Home Button and capable of holding 5 different users.

We've really come a long way from the days when I carried the Palm, Windows Mobile, and Mobile Sidekick and finally arriving at the first iPhone that I remember paying a little over $600 and thought at that time it was so worth it. But as the years have passed and the advanced apps making my life so much easier, yes I'm speaking of the Mail, Pages, Numbers and Keynote apps that I didn't have sitting back in the meetings looking like I was playing games instead of paying attention to the non-Steve Jobs style presentations. Life in technology is truly getting better and the iPhone clearly is paving the way. As much as Windows Surface beats out those commercial obviously aimed at those unaware of the capabilities of an iPhone or iPad. Besides who really does two things at once, as I sit here listening to music and typing away my draft of this blog. But lets not get sidetracked at the struggles of those trying to breach the walls of the iPhone Kingdom, lol, too much added rant?

As I look at the iPhone and want to take it home like that little doggy in the window, I think that this one isn't for me. Mostly because I'm happy with the iPhone 5 and happily enjoying the new iOS 7 upgrade I just installed this week. Sometimes you just have to ask, "Do I really need it?" I'm happy at the moment with the iPhone 5. It has everything I need. I not much of a gamer, example I just loaded the app Simple Brick and Dead End to pass the time. Call me old school, but I'm happy with what Apple did with the iPhone 5. What I've learned is that what I truly need is space on my phone to save and add documents, photos and music that I just have to listen over and over.

I think I'll wait for the Eye Recognition. But don't let my lack of moving forward with a new iPhone defer you. As always, the iPhone 5S and 5C are both huge leaps forward and will satisfy all those who make the purchase today or in the days to come. I'd have to opinion that the new iPhone 5C, C for color and 5 colors available, is for those looking for a more affordable iPhone. The iPhone 5C is nicely priced at $99 with 16GB and the next up is $199 with 32GB of space. The iPhone 5S starts at $199 with 16GB, $299 with 32GB and $399 with 64GB.

As for my trip to the Apple Store today, I must add, was an adventure into the Apple cult I'm happy to be a part of.

Did you get a new iPhone?

Apple Slows Down Older iPhones

Apple admits slowing down older iPhones. But it's not a part of a conspiracy, it's to fix an issue. Geekbench conducted a test and found the age of batteries affecting iPhone 6, 6s, and 7 to be slowing down. Apple had attempted to fix the problem by slowing down CPU usage, a result that came from iPhones unexpectedly shutting down when the battery approached 30 percent of battery life.   Photo by  rawpixel.com  on  Unsplash To resolve the issue, Apple released iOS 10.2.1 on February 17, 2017. The fix slows down the processing speed to offset and extend battery life. Apple explained to Business Insider : "Lithium-ion batteries become less capable of supplying peak current demands when in cold conditions, have a low battery charge or as they age over time, which can result in the device unexpectedly shutting down to protect its electronic components." Additionally,  Apple advises when using iPhone, iPad, iPod, and Apple Watch to avoid extreme heat

LandGrabbers for iPad

Well this game has me addicted. LandGrabbers is similar to Command and Conquer. You start off with one house and compete against the AI and clock to take over the map. The free download come with about 18 levels, and the $2.99 upgrade doubles that. Time flies taking over the maps. Great game and great price. Highly recommend it at 5/5 stars.

Media Convergence Adapt or Fall Into Extinction

This morning I was catching up on stocks particularly Google's seeing that it's resting at $1,150 while just a year ago it was seemingly leveling around $650. I keep thinking Ads, blogs, search engines and more news companies are adopting and contributing to Google's search engines golden pot at the end of their rainbow. The media convergence is in effect. Around every corner there's always a doomsday scenario about who will survive the new internet medium of the written word to mass media. Would we be reading books anymore and why when we can watch film, worried those concerned in the 1920's and when TV came along in the 50's we almost thought for sure the radio was a goner. Just the other day I was thinking what to do with all those old books, videos, CD's, cassettes and buried somewhere within them a few Kiss 8-tracks and vinyl records much less where to play any of them. Why not just throw them all out or use them for an all out art project because I c
